his May, we're thrilled to release an industry-first feature for HowToo.
If you've been following us for a little while, you'll probably know that we're passionate about digital accessibility. Living with a disability can have a huge impact on your ability to see, hear, understand or navigate on digital devices. Yet it shouldn't - there are so many ways to design products to be accessible for everyone.
That's why it's always been a core part of HowToo's mission to create a product that is compliant with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA international standard of digital accessibility. We also want to make accessibility easy for everyone for everyone to implement, which is why we're incredibly proud to share our latest product update.
We've rolled out a unique new feature that allows users to automatically check for inaccessible elements across your entire learning object, such a missing alt text, headings or transcripts.
With our new accessibility checklist you'll be able to instantly see what elements need fixing and where to find them. The accessibility checklist can be accessed at any time from the storyboard or editor view of your learning objects. Selecting items on the checklist will take you to the inaccessible elements.
You'll also have a chance to run a final check before publishing your learning objects so you can be sure you haven't missed a thing. Without the elements picked up by the checker, learning objects won't meet important accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1 and 508 compliance.
With the new accessibility checklist, it's easier than ever to ensure that your learning experiences are accessible for all your learners, and to improve the experience for everyone.
If you have any questions about any of these new or planned features, start a chat with our team. They can answer any questions or even give you a demo.
